Hello Everyone! Today it got dark at 3:30 in the afternoon. I keep reminding myself that at this time last year, I was already about month-deep into the winter blues. So I am really doing very well, only recently feeling that familiar twinge of desperation for light. We're almost on the other side of this thing! In the meantime, I am enjoying reliving summertime with these daily photos. Today we're in Ghent. This was our second visit to Belgium, and a wonderful one, since we were being hosted by new friends. After treating us to a tour of Huyghe Brewery and lunch at their house, they showed us around their city, by a boat tour of the Ghent waterways.
I love the red paint on the rain gutters!
How is winter treating you?
By the way, I was interviewed at Unmistakably Food-- check out my advice on getting good food into your kitchen and onto your dinner table!

How is winter treating me? Not very well actually! Every year we leave the stinking wet season buildup in northern Australia around Nov/Dec to head to our home on the border with Thailand?Laos and Cambodia to enjoy their 'winter' This normally means 30 deg days and 15 deg nights - just a wonderful difference to the 42 degree days and 28 degree nights back in Australia at the same time.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason God has forgotten this year to turn down the temp and we are still sweating it out every day - hopefully it will change soon.
From tomorrow the days are getting longer! It's the days where it doesn't really get light at all cos low cloud and rain tht are the worst. I like the clear crisp winter days, seeing the sunrise on the way to work, but those are in the minority here...
