Sundays are for Sharing....

Hi Everyone!  I missed posting my links last week.  I have to say, it's a lot harder to keep up with blogs and such with Amelia at home all the time.  I guess that's how it should be, but I do kind of miss it.  I am hoping to have good things to blog about this week, since as you read this we'll be in Belgium again!  This is our longest trip since Turkey-- four whole days!  I'm really excited with this, and at this time (Thursday afternoon) the weather looks like it should be really nice.  On to some good reads.  This week, it's all about the here-and-now: Summertime and the Olympics.

Summer Dreaming:
It's no secret that summertime is my favorite time of year.  We honestly haven't had much of one this year, and it does make me a little panicky that it's August, and we've only hit a high of 83ยบ, and haven't even had many days without rain.  We still sleep with a blanket or two on our bed at night.

Still, I love reading about long summer days and nights.  Aran shared about a glorious time on a Vermont farm.

And this Slow-Living Summer List from Mark made me miss summer already.  But I did note that I had actually done quite a few of the summertime items, and that made me feel better.

I was delighted by this little series of photos Andrea took of kids in the throes of summertime.  It made me think of all the fun things I used to do as a kid that left me looking a lot like those children!

England and the Olympics:
Well, we will not be making it to any Olympics events this year.  I feel a little bit bad about that, but having other bloggers here covering the experience so well really helps!  Laura did a great job of capturing the event she attended this week-- I almost felt like I was there with her!

Jenny and her kids got to attend an Olympics football game, and she shared about it here.  Fun!

I loved Michelle's take on how the Olympics have made London a better place.  I haven't been in London since they began, but I absolutely believe that the world is a better place when we interact with the people around us.

Well, that does it for the week.  I'll "talk"  to you soon, and hopefully have some great photos and stories to share with you from Belgium-- I know for sure that we will be checking out the city of Gent, and touring the Delerium Tremens brewery!

What have you been up to so far this August?

  1. Okay, I finally have something to share. It's rare that I peruse the interweb, but I just found something that you would love and reminds me of you:

There is a slideshow of photos of this re-done house on Sauvie Island near Portland, Oregon. Love it!

  2. Thanks, Elie! I love her work, and her home on Sauvie Island is just so beautiful and simple! I came across her work somewhere before, and sent the link to my sis-in-law. Thanks for sharing that, I loved looking through her work!

Something I love about blogging is the way that I can meet people from all over the world, and we can have conversations about life and the subjects at hand. Please introduce yourself, I would love to hear what you have to say!
