Sundays are for Sharing

Happy Mother's Day!  My list of reads this week is short and sweet.

Expat Life:
Must we expats always conform to our host country's cultural norms?  Michelle shares a powerful reflection on when it's OK to balk. This one is not just for expats, by the way! Also, there are adorable baby goats to be enjoyed!

Andrew voiced my own experience with expat living versus endless wandering, and I have to agree that travel is so much more fun when you have some roots (or at least your own bed) to come home to.

Food and Culture:
I enjoyed this interview with cookbook author BĂ©atrice Peltre, who is an expat from France living in the USA.  There is also a giveaway for a cookbook I've been eying since before it was published!  It was fun reading through memorable food experiences the readers left in the comments.

Vicarious Travel:
Have you ever been to the Faroe Islands?  Two of my brothers went, and really had great experiences there.  But I never realized how beautiful, even whimsical the home sand landscapes there are, until I saw the beautiful pictures in this post from the Anthology Magazine blog.

Did you post about your mom, or motherhood this week?  Please share the link with us in the comments!   Here's mine, in case you missed it.

Something I love about blogging is the way that I can meet people from all over the world, and we can have conversations about life and the subjects at hand. Please introduce yourself, I would love to hear what you have to say!
